Key West Oasis Vacation Rental, originally a cigar makers cottage (aka 'Shotgun' home) back in the early 1900's, features an open floor plan. Once in the main house, the entrance foyer leads you to the living room, kitchen and dining area (the master suite is off to the left of the foyer). Not only does the open floor plan feel warm and inviting, but it is ideal for socializing with family and friends.
This style of architecture can be traced back to West Africa and the French Caribbean. The name 'Shotgun' came to be from the idea that you and can fire a shot in the front door and it would exit the back of the house without resistance.
