Flying into Key West/Understanding Taxi Fare
If you are flying directly into Key West, just tell the Taxi driver to take you to 1114 Varela Street. It is about a 5 minute cab drive from the airport. GTK: Keep in mind that there is an $9/per person fee for cabs leaving the airport. So if there are 4 people in the cab, then your cab fare will be $36 (4 x $9), plus any gratuity. I know this seems high, but taxi cabs pay an airport fee every time they leave and arrive at the airport. Once you are in town, the cabs are metered (assuming 3 or less people in the cab). If there are more than 3 people, the cabs go to a fee based system again and it will be $3.50/per person to anywhere in Zone 1.

Driving to Key West or Renting a CarThe Old Town historic district was built before the invention of automobiles and therefore there are very few driveways in this area. So while there is no designated driveway at Key West Oasis, there is always street parking available. The only spots that are off limits are the ones that are marked "Residential Parking Only” (for year round residents only), do not park in these spots or you will get a ticket.
GTK: The closer you get to Duval Street, the more difficult it will become finding a parking spot. Unless there are mobility issues, it is advised to walk or rent bikes. |
Key West Oasis Private Home Rental Policies:
Check-in time is 3:00 PM and Check-out time is 10:00 AM. We ask all guests to kindly adhere to this schedule, as this time is needed to clean the house and ready for the next guests coming in.
Minimum Age to Rent – You must be at least 28 years of age to rent at Key West Oasis. We DO NOT rent to Spring Breakers!
Minimum Stay - There is a 7 night minimum at all times.
Method of Payment – Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Personal Checks and E-Checks
Deposit - A deposit of 50% of the Rental Amount and 50% of the Sales Tax is required to secure your vacation time at Key West Oasis. This deposit is due within five (5) days of making your reservation, along with the signed contract that will be sent to you. If your deposit is not received within 5 days, your reservation will be released.
Security Deposit – A $500 security deposit is required and is due with the final payment. Please note, we do not "hold" security deposit checks, they are a required part of the final payment and will be deposited or charged to the credit card three weeks prior to arrival. After guest’s departure and a final walk-thru, the $500 security deposit will gladly be returned (assuming no damage or loss of any property) within ten (10) business days.
Sales Tax – We are a licensed transient rental. As such, we are required by the State of Florida and Monroe County to charge a total of 12.5% tax on all rentals.
Final Payment – The remaining balance and $500 security deposit are due 30 days prior to guests arrival.
Cancellation Policy - If there is a change in your plans for all or part of your stay, notify us at least 2 months (60 days) prior to your arrival and we will refund your deposit less a $200 cancellation fee. If you cancel inside of 2 months (60 days), your 50% deposit is forfeited.
Pet Policy - We DO NOT take pets of any kind
No Smoking Inside House - We strongly enforce the non-smoking rule inside the house. If you are a smoker and feel that you will not be able to keep to this rule in good faith, we kindly ask that you look elsewhere. Failure to comply with this rule will result in an extra $300 cleaning fee, which will be deducted from the security deposit.
Noise Levels: We kindly ask that guests not violate the quiet enjoyment of the surrounding neighbors and to respect their privacy and property.
Maximum Occupancy – There is a maximum occupancy of 4 individuals on the premise at all times. Due to my Transient License restrictions, this policy is strictly enforced. Any guest found not in compliance with this policy will be asked to leave immediately without a refund.
